Writer, Director, Tia Williams
The path to greatness for a woman of color in life, as well as entertainment, isn’t always the easiest. Within the mind of Tiara “Tia” Williams her dreams aim to bring reality to both the silver screen and the male dominated entertainment industry. Born in Austin and raised in a small town right outside of the city of Houston, Tia followed in her mother’s footsteps and moved back to the weird city as an adult, for a change in pace. Tia found her creative niche while podcasting and combined her true love for writing and love for people of color to begin blogging about victims of Police brutality, and expanded her storytelling abilities with romantic short stories and screenplays. As a new filmmaker Tia’s goal is to use HER art to tell the stories that help not only entertain, but break down societal norms and highlight Black excellence.
Producer, Maureen Lomo
In addition to producing, Maureen is a published author, public speaker and skilled copywriter. She contributes topical and engaging content to various digital platforms and has been featured in Huffington Post, Ms. X Factor, etc. Before the arts, Maureen excelled at a worldwide human resources career and credits her time abroad for enhancing her professional speaking and writing. Her debut novel “Tenth Year in the Sun” is available locally and on Amazon.
Director of Photography, Justin Humphrey
Born and raised in Austin, TX as the only child, Justin Humphrey began using his imagination at an early age to keep his self entertained. His film making journey began after experimenting with photography in high school. During Justin’s junior year he discovered his passion to write, direct, film, and edit images to tell cinematic stories. Justin brings accountability and artistic integrity to every project and endeavor he works on. His creative vision, determination, and skills are what propel him to be recognized among the global community of creative greats!
Jeanetta Brantley, Sound Mixer and Ashley Kemp, Colorist
Jeanetta Brantley and her partner Ashley Kemp make up A & J Marketing and Media. A & J Marketing and Media is the perfect solution for organizations that have trouble with communicating the value of their product, project, or event. Jeanetta specializes in professional sound design, music composition and audio engineering. Her skills include editing, sound mixing, original music composition, Foley editing, ADR recording, audio clean up, final mixing in 5.1 surround sound, sound effects, and audio engineering (just to name a few lol). Ashley Kemp, is a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor. Her skills and experience include editing, color grading, creating titles and opening and ending credits, trailers, camera assistant, and so much more. Together the two are a powerhouse offering over 14 years of experience!
Gaffer, Jaclyn Elizabeth
Jaclyn is an Austin local who freelances in lighting and camera, moonlights in reality TV, and accumulates side gigs like a squirrel gathering acorns for winter. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2017 with a double degree in Radio-Television-Film and Spanish. An avid bread baker and lover of languages, she collects hobbies as quickly as she abandons them but can make both good movies and good strain (if she does say so herself).
Wardrobe Stylist, Dom Steele
Dom created gingerolive.thrift in the summer of 2018 with the thought of, “making thrifting and style accessible for everybody and every body.” The versatility and sustainability of style is something that has always been important to them. Dom has learned that building multiple looks with a few useful, niche pieces helps to stretch your closet and your dollar. Their own style evolution has shown them that there are a number of ways to cater to each side of yourself and keep your wallet intact. One of gingerolive.thrift’s biggest goals is to reassure folks of all genders and sizes that thrifting can be accessible in spite of what mainstream media has projected. As a Black, queer, non-binary stylist, it is important to them that anyone who engages with gingerolive.thrift does not feel limited by their gender, race, size or socioeconomic background. Dom aims to curate styles that enhance identity and personality, showcasing the truest self.
Camera Assistant, Emanuel
Emanuel, also known as STATIC is a Visual Content Creator who has created various video productions for different businesses, artists, promoters, entrepreneurs, events etc. The Austin Native honed his skills with the camera through self taught experiences, video tutorials and a numerous of online courses. STATIC furthered his education at the Austin Film School where he studied Short Film/ Minority lens Through A Black & Brown Perspective and Documentary film-making. He produces, shoots and edits numerous projects including music videos to Wedding entertainment. Emanuel looks to keep broadening his trade and collaborate with other creative minds!
Production Assistant, Nia KB
Nia KB is a Black queer non-binary poet, editor, and educator. They are the recipient of fellowships and residencies from Lambda Literary, The Speakeasy Project, and UTSA’s African American Literatures and Cultures Institute. Their poetry appears or is forthcoming in Eleven40Seven, Z Publishing, Pamplemousse, Brown State of Mind, Lighthouse Literary, and elsewhere. When they’re not blessing stages or writing pages, they serve as Associate Poetry Editor for Fields Magazine, Production Assistant for the web series Gentrified, Curator/Host of the reading series Austin Interfaces, and Teaching Artist for Austin Library Foundation’s Badgerdog Creative Writing Program.
